Dec 4, 2024Integrating AI into business processes might sound scary to some people, with fears it might take away their jobs, but that's far from the truth. Businesses are like machines to run well; all parts need to be working in order and together, and if you want the machine to run better, you add oil to it, making it even more efficient; you're not taking out parts to make space for the oil but putting the oil on the parts to make sure they run better. AI works in the same way; it isn’t going to replace employees, and what they do, the AI will instead allow them to complete tasks more efficiently; it’s a win-win for everyone.
AI has already become an irreplaceable tool for us; many people even prefer searching on ChatGPT as opposed to Google or any other search engine (but let's be real, who uses Bing?). When it comes to businesses, AI can enhance almost any industry it is integrated into, especially since most AI that is integrated into business processes is tailor-made to seamlessly integrate into the workflow of whatever business they are made for.
There are a variety of ways in which AI can improve and enhance the workflow of almost any industry.
These tasks that would often take away the precious time of the human employees will no longer need to be manually done once an AI is integrated into a workflow; these tasks will be automatically done by it instead, tasks such as customer care can be left to AI chatbots or assistants. Helping with routine tasks like clearing up any doubts about a product, confirming a refund, or even troubleshooting a faulty product can be easily handled by an AI chatbot. Although for now the most an AI chatbot is capable of is simple routine tasks, there is a future where they can act as full-blown sales assistants. A glimpse of this can be seen in Deloitte’s Future of Retail Experience Centre, which Ink in Caps helped Deloitte develop. The experience centre was created to showcase what the future of retail looked like in Deloitte's eyes. There were many features of the experience, but its main focus was the AI assistant that Ink In Caps developed to help customers out. It was capable of this by telling them what looks best on the customer. If the customer wanted to know how a watch would look on them, the AI would tell them whether it does or not and then also suggest going with an alternative dial or wristband and customising it to fit their style better.
Businesses can sometimes underestimate customer demand and then are caught off guard when there's a surge of a certain product randomly and then they may run out of stock too fast and miss out on a lot more business not even mentioning the customer dissatisfaction the lack of stock would bring, AI can remedy this by analysing historical data and being able to predict which products peak or trend during what times, so that businesses can future proof and focus on stocking more of that product anticipating the sales this can also help businesses not keep a needless excess stock especially if the goods are perishable or hard to store, the AI will be able to tell the most they’d need so they would only have to store that amount.
Instead of having human employees go through a hundred applications every day when looking for new blood to hire, it is more convenient and efficient to pass that work onto an AI. You can train the AI to look out for applications that have the specific qualifications or skills you are looking for and sort them all together, making it easier for the human employee to then see who the best candidates are to interview from the lot that the AI has selected. AI can also be used to train employees and make them develop more skills or figure out what they want to do with their careers. Accenture has an AI that tracks over 8000 skills in the company’s skill library. Employees can then choose to learn these skills, and the AI then adds that information to the database so that in the future the employees are matched with projects and career opportunities that would help them learn and polish that skill.
The cornerstone of any respectable company should be its employees, but using AI to polish that cornerstone to make it shine brighter is important. At Ink In Caps, we believe in using AI to the best of our abilities to improve our productivity and speed up any tasks that we commit to.
