Are you still using boring old digital LED displays for visual appeal in the hopes of capturing the attention of passersby? Well, if you are, you need to change your strategy, because Interactive Walls are here and all the big brands are already using them.

The experience-driven market has changed quite a lot in the last few years. Today, it isn't enough for you to just keep up with what products your competitors are pushing out and their pricing. Today's competition is all about engagement and giving the user a memorable experience. No matter where you go, be it shopping malls, airports, or any other public space where a huge number of customers can be found, everyone is competing for their attention, to learn about their behaviour and gain insights.

Fortunately, if you are looking to not just compete, but also stand out in this competition, Interactive wall projection technology is here to help you out.

What are Interactive Walls?

Interactive Walls are high-tech digital display installations that make use of various sensors and software to interact with their users. The users typically control or respond to the environment by using touch or motion controls.

What separates these walls from static displays is that the users are encouraged to actively participate. So, instead of standing in front of a screen and waiting for the video to loop to something that interests them, Interactive Walls allow the user to interact with its content and explore it in a way that is not only informative but also enjoyable for them.

The biggest benefit these walls provide to your brand is data. For example, when you install a CCTV camera, you are limited to the information you gain, like the number of people who visited your stall or the time when the traffic was highest. But interactive walls change this, and you also get data about what products they interacted with most, what categories piqued their interest, the content users skipped past, etc.

As such, the data, which was previously only about the number of customers, now becomes much more useful since you also know about their behaviour and which products of yours interest them the most. This is beneficial for you as you can either focus on selling more of what they are already interested in, or maybe try improving the sections users didn't seem to care much about. The point is you have the data, and it is your decision how you play with it.

Different Forms and Applications of Interactive Walls

Interactive Walls is a broad technology that comes in several different forms. Here are some of them and the areas where they can be used:

Touch-enabled retail product catalogs

You can think of these walls as similar to Smart TVs, but on a larger scale. However, instead of an LED screen that shows the products using something like a looped video. Users can explore the products in a more interactive manner, allowing them to check multiple catalogs, check details of a product, compare it with others, etc.

Data visualization wallsThese walls can be used to display complex data in a dynamic format so that the information becomes easy to understand. Additionally, it also allows the teams presenting the information to get more hands-on with the data by giving them the options to zoom in on certain analytics, interact with different dashboards, etc., basically making the data more explorative for themselves and the audience.

Gesture-controlled brand experiences

These walls tend to be more memorable as, instead of physical contact like touching the screen, it gives users the ability to control the content on the screen using motion gestures. This feature also makes the technology appear more futuristic, leaving a better impression of your brand on the customers.

Gamified marketing installations

Another way to make your experience more memorable for the customers is to gamify the marketing campaign that is being showcased on your wall. This significantly increases user engagement because now the customers can have a challenge to complete or a high score to set, and they can also be given rewards for their performance.

Immersive storytelling displays

Interactive Walls can be very useful in Museums and exhibitions, as the storytelling achieved through them gives you a narration that makes the full use of visuals, sound, and user interaction.

Educational engagement surfaces

Similar to Museums, educational institutions can benefit a lot from Interactive walls. For example, learning human anatomy through such a wall can be a much more immersive experience, as teachers get a better way to showcase the different body parts and their functions; meanwhile, students can interact with them to see how they work.

Interactive wayfinding systems

These walls are typically useful in large spaces like malls, airports, campuses, etc. As such, whenever a user is stuck somewhere, they can use these walls to navigate their current location and how to get to their destination in real time.

Smart office collaboration boards

The best use of these walls in workplaces is for collaboration and team meetings. It makes sessions that require brainstorming, sharing content, or having hybrid meetings a seamless experience.

How our Clients Benefited from Interactive Walls

We can talk about how futuristic or useful Interactive Walls are all day, but it means nothing without any quantifyable stats. The good news is that we at Ink In Caps have helped out a lot of our clients with this technology. Here are some examples of how they benefited from them:

BMW

Since Electronic Vehicles (EVs) are quite new in the Indian Market. BMW was having trouble getting consumers to make a shift. However, the solution we came up with for BMW was BEVScape. To help their users make the jump, Interactive Walls controlled by synchronized iPads were used. BEVScape showcased all of its features while keeping the experience immersive.

This project was such a success that it was deployed in more than 20 showrooms in India and was even revealed at the Auto Expo alongside their new cars.

Amazon

Amazon wanted to show the capabilities of its advanced Amazon Freight and Amazon Shipping network. The solution we offered was to make use of Interactive AR walls, where users would use tablets to scan the interactive walls to learn about Amazon's logistics journey.

Over 3500 visitors used the wall and learned about the expansive fleet of Amazon Freight and Amazon Shipping network connecting to over 14,000 pin codes across India.

Interactive gamified wall

The fact of the matter is, in today's day and age, as much as experience is important for the users, so is data for businesses. Interactive Walls is one technology that helps benefit both. So, if you are looking to create smarter spaces, build stronger customer relationships, and want to make informed decisions, you should start using them now.
